Senior Special Agent Kenneth Golec will be retiring November 30, 2011 after more than 24 years with USDA-OIG and 33 years total federal service. Ken started with HHS and came to OIG in Atlanta, GA, in 1987. Other than two years detailed to a Department of Justice - Iraq Export Fraud Task Force in Washington, DC, spent his whole career in Atlanta.
Ken was co-founder and law enforcement liaison of the Southeast Transportation Security Council, www.setsc.org, a group made up of federal, state and local law enforcement along with corporate and transportation security personnel devoted to fighting cargo theft. The groupís alerts and intelligence bulletins are now distributed to law enforcement and corporate security personnel nationwide.
There will be a retirement luncheon for Ken at the TWELVE Centennial Park, 400 W. Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA on November 29 from noon to 2:00 pm.
