The Pension Protection Act of 2006

Beginning in the 2007 tax year, this act allows retired special agents to treat insurance premiums as paid from pre-tax income. See the Legislation topic in the News & Forum section for details on how to claim this (click here). The Tax Cut software does not allow you to e-File your return if you claim this benefit since you have to manually adjust (override) their 1040. It has been reported that Turbo Tax software will handle this new benefit within the program without having to make any manual adjustments, and you can e-File your return.
