If you itemized your deductions for the 2008, 2009 and/or 2010 tax years using Turbo Tax, and used the Public Safety Officer medical insurance exclusion, you may have to file an amended return. Turbo Tax apparently made errors in handling this. The links explaining this are:
Beginning in the 2007 tax year, this act allows retired special agents to treat health insurance premiums as paid from pre-tax income. See the Legislation topic in the Retiree News section for details on how to claim this (click here). Also included is current information on the income tax software you can and cannot use when claiming this benefit. Not all of them will work if you want to efile.
